» Al Ain Tour

Known as the ‘garden city’, Al Ain is a large oasis surrounded by spectacular desert formations and rocky outcrops. Only 20 years ago Al Ain consisted of a small group of 6 villages clustered around trees and fresh water springs. Now the city is a prime example of progress in the desert with an international airport, numerous parks and hotels. To see how the farmers here used water, that most precious of resources, our tour visits an ancient falaj irrigation system at the Buraimi oasis. We tour the old souk, a lively camel market and some of the magnificent palaces of the ruling family and we also take a drive to the top of Jebel Hafeet, one of the UAE’s highest mountains.
