What we’ve done

From large to small, daytime to evening, serious to fun events, Gulf Ventures takes care of all the details that will ensure that your event is a success. Here is a sample of some of the activities that we have arranged over the past 12 months:

Advanced driving skills

When VW wanted to give German owners of the luxury Phoeton a chance to try advanced driving skills they worked with Gulf Ventures to develop the programme. We arranged a day of training at the Dubai Autodrome, a purpose build racing track in Dubai. In this controlled and safe environment each participant learned how to undertake high speed manoeuvring and cornering under the guidance of a driving instructor. The guests also had a chance to try out the new Touareg 4 Wheel Drive at the Autodrome, and the following day put the vehicles to the test in the desert environment.

Fashion show and sales conference

Working with a leading German cosmetics company Gulf Ventures organised a sales conference for a group of almost 500 hairdressers. After learning about the features of the new products the participants were treated to a fashion show in one of Dubai’s luxury hotels. This incredibly complex event featured a live hair cutting demonstration on stage, 15 models and countless changes of outfit.

Golf Tours

Dubai is the ideal destination for golfing enthusiasts, and if you’d like to organise a specific golfing tour for your club or organisation then Gulf Ventures can pull this all together. We have organised mini-tournaments for visiting parties of up to 100, with members playing a round on many of Dubai’s spectacular courses. Rounded off with a gala presentation at the Burj al Arab your visitors feel like they’re taking part in their own PGA Desert Classic.

Team Building activities – navigational challenges

The purpose of many incentive programmes is of course to develop a stronger sense of team spirit and to challenge your staff to think outside the box and be creative. Gulf Ventures has organised a range of team building activities from the fun of beach Olympics and treasure hunts to more complex challenges that test the initiative, team working, coordination and physical capabilities of your management teams. Point to point navigational exercises are a possibility using either self-drive 4WDs or Quad Bikes – if you have the budget!

Themed presentations

A theme of ‘Old Arabia’ was the requirement for one of our German clients recently, so we negotiated the use of Sheikh Obaid bin Thani’s residence, the oldest house in Dubai, for this event. Staff dressed in traditional clothes and a musical troupe added to the old world ambience. Cultural lectures and falconry demonstrations are a regular part of Gulf Venture’s tours – informing guests about the traditional way of life here, before the coming of oil.

Music events

As part of the MMI Group Gulf Ventures is supported by the MMI Events team, who are behind some of Dubai’s major music and sporting events. This means that if you’d like to bring in a top line star, DJ or band to give your team an extra special treat, then Gulf Ventures has the contacts to make this a reality. Boney M, known worldwide for such hits as ‘Rivers of Babylon’, ‘Daddy Cool’ and ‘Ra ra Rasputin’, were flown in last year to play an exclusive private party within sight of the spectacular Burj al Arab. The group’s medley of hits had the whole party jiving on the dance floor and a magnificent fireworks display rounded off a memorable evening.

Photographic tour

One of the world’s leading camera manufacturers recently toured Dubai and Oman with Gulf Ventures to give a range of salesmen and local distributors the chance to try out their latest digital camera. Each participant was given a camera and was tasked with taking photos of the spectacular city and desert scenery across the 2 areas. Each evening a professional photographer critiqued the photos and the tour finished with a spectacular presentation in middle of the desert with all photos projected onto a large screen. Gulf Ventures organised all approvals for the group to take photos wherever they stopped and arranged for them to visit the most photogenic sights in the region!
